Clad in enigmatic charred cedar, the simple form is surrounded by lush greenery and an exterior patio. Inside the retreat, a comfortable built in banquette is framed by bookshelves which store the owner’s ample literary collection. The dark palette of the exterior is contrasted with white oak wood and warm colored fabric. Large windows are carefully placed to create the illusion of looking out onto nature, while carefully masking the surrounding buildings.
