Santa cruz mixed use library
The new 35,000 SF Santa Cruz Downtown Library is part of a $100 million development that includes parking, commercial space, a daycare center, and affordable housing. Jayson Architecture prepared the conceptual design strategy for the entire mixed-use site, and is the design architect for the library façade and both the design architect and the architect of record for the library interiors. The project will be one of the largest undertakings by the City of Santa Cruz in its history, and bring new energy to an underutilized surface parking lot parcel in the center of the downtown. The two-floor library will be Zero Net Energy, and include sustainable features like a green roof, solar panels, and high-performance glazing. Once completed, the library will be the civic heart of downtown Santa Cruz.
